It was very touching to hear Michael say 'When I was a child ,I never had Christmas...I never had Birthdays...every time it was just practice & practice....' As a kid his dad made him work really hard on his dance steps which made him world famous in later years of his life....but little did he know the price he had to pay for all this..............

Some people just refuse to listen to advice..........there is a famous thought that giving advice to a person who is not keen to listen is like pouring water into a glass that is kept upside down.....you will never get a drop into the glass...will waste all the water...your time.... & will splash the water all around & make a big mess ....they are better off learning things in the hard way....if they are lucky enough to get away without making too fatal mistakes...

Of the 100 cartoons published this one is among the few I hold close to my heart because of the clean humour & simplicity of the lines...Mamma frog is so happy that her son is kicked out of school..........This toon was published in Indian Express way back in 2003.......

It is a tough time for the Gods in India to prove their existence......the politicians are wise enough to question the existence of GODS....you can see GODS queing up before the passport office or trying hard to get hold of a driving liscence....by the way I heard they need a proof of address as well........

This is a cartoon I did 3 years ago on war in the Middle East. Neither do I support the war nor am I against it.....I was trying to look at things at a neutral perspective...

...If few guys came into my house....uninvited... kicks my dad out & tells my mum that he is not good enough to run the house & they are here to fix things....then they beat up my brothers ....mess up my house .....& keep reassuring me that they are doing all this for my long term good & at the end of the day they refuse to leave.....

I don't think things happening in the middle east are any different......

This is a toon I drew a good 3 years ago after the disasterous performance of India(as usual) in 2004 Olympics. How pathetic it was to see Indian players coming back with a bronze medal when tiny nations like Japan & Korea were hoarding gold medals. An olympic gold is still a distant dream for a nation representing 1 billion people on earth!!!!!!
You can see the mother bird who went out with a huge sac , back with '......' to feed the 1 billion hungry mouths!!!!!!! don't be too greedy, kids....!!!!!

the gift of innocence......

As an adult expensive cars, designer made clothes, holidays at the choicest destinations....the most exotic dishes....can still fail to make you happy or leave you content....it is interesting to see kids finding happiness in the simplist of things, which we may either take for granted or which may appear too silly to us.....like making a sand castle on the beach ...shout & laugh at the waves that devour it....we may look back on those moments of absolute delight....carefree life...golden moments that will never come back to you again.... ...it is the gift of innocence we loose in the mad rush to enjoy adult pleasures.....

Today early morning I was trying to chat with one of my old classmates Mr. MACO MAN( name changed keeping in view my desire to live a bit more longer) in Brisbane. He said he couldn't spare much time as he was getting ready for 'jogging'....sorry what??????? 'JOGGING' ....Christ!!!!!I couldn't believe my ears.....I looked out of the window to see a crow( sorry 'a mutant siberian crane-as worded by one of my great professors who had time for everything except to teach) defying the laws of gravity & flying around chanting in sanskrit, ok the world is comming to an end & strange things are happening & our MACO MAN is going out for jogging.......So I made this toon to give an insight into his motivation for this 'health conscious life style' . ( he no longer has his dick-broom& that lock of hair kissing his forhead, picture edited to protect privacy & bring back the memories of his old self)...Last thing I heard was that Aussie girls from Brisbane have started a early morning marathon lead by an 'asian d.....'!!!!...hmmmmm......I know my days are counted from the moment I drew this toon.... he will be after me soon.......take your time mate ...I am in no rush to die.......

The politicians have a donned a new role in India. They are helping the public to reinforce the faith in Gods with scientific proofs........In a spiritual land like India, religion is the last thing anyone one want to play with, where logic & scientific proofs are never welcome.....just faith....blind faith......At the end of the day religion is the faith in the higher force you call God that leads & guides you......why should the politicians who are not capable in ruling the country properly ask for trouble by muddling with such a sensitive issue that are bound to hurt the feelings of the believers of Hinduism...........

Life is never the same after Chak De-the blockbuster bollywood movie in which king khan trains an underdog team of 16 girls to win the hockey world cup.......No one will ever forget the girl who responds with a 'hoy, hoy!!!' to every other question you throw at her......I feel it is a good way to respond when you do answer the question & leave the person wondering what you meant by it.....I hit upon the idea for this toon while chatting with Ji today about Chak de on orkut....hoy...hoy!!!!!!!!!!!

The Age of ORKUT

ORKUT-the social networking site of google like 'facebook' is such a rage these days that you can see so many youngsters glued to the net to chat & exchange photos with some strange friends all over the world. Ever wondered who could be the 'real' person behind some of those fanciful profiles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This boy goes further by inviting his orkut girlfriend home-'the 18 year old, single, beautiful face from New York'. I am not entirely sure whether this was the one he was expecting!!!!!!!!

Teddy Bears that don't bite

I drew this cartoon for one of my collegues who was nagging me for long to draw a picture to put in her blog. So this cartoon of a girl hugging a teddy was born.I drew this toon using a ball point pen on to an A4 size sheet with no room for corrections..... She didn't quiet like the cartoon, so I am not so sure it found its place in her blog. I did'nt want to loose this work as few did say that the teddy was cute.....Eventhough this teddy has a unusually big arm & leg I like its cheeky smile.....

The little crocodile who loved cheese.....

This sweet little crocodile is from one of my works 'The little crocodile who loved cheese'. She was created based on one of my friends who was mad of cheese. I wrote the story in three hours time while in I was in a train to London.It was one of those sunny days when ideas came down so effortlessly & all I had to do was to pen it down in my diary.I was blissfully happy when I got down at London Euston train station as the story was complete & I was able to make the initial sketches of the character. The story was about how the little crocodile got her cheese back.I still can't remember why I painted this little crocodile green?

These are the first few panels of MOHA, It took me ages to fill in those black background which was highly essential for the plot. These panels still remain as one among my favourites as they came out really well.....I like these black backdrops as they add richness & depth to the panels.....

Moha 'The monster hunter'-My first comic strip

'Moha-The Monster Hunter' was my first full length comic strip. It was really exciting to pen down the script, visualise the sequence, story board the whole plot.......I was really into it day & night.....the toughest part was to draw all the panels...wooohhh......I sat on this unfinished project for few months till I decided one day to paint all the panels & print it...it was really exciting to fill in all the speech bubbles.....hmmmmmm......good old days..........I miss them......

Changing times............

This cartoon is a reflection of the changing times. Even though we respect hierarchy in workplace things are more moving towards team work where you are expected to listen to the opinion of your team mates. Listening & effective communication serves as the conerstone for building trust among team mates that hugely enhances work efficiency......at the end of the day, the job gets done quicker & working becomes more pleasurable.....

This is one of those cartoons I drew 3 years back on US torture of Iraqie POW. I came across this cartoon quiet accidently while going through my old files......It is quiet disturbing to know that things are still not much different in that part of the world...In this cartoon this poor Iraqie POW is no longer very affectionate to his pet dog but feels his presence a real threat to his peaceful existence.His pet dog feels that his master is just acting strange towards him .Little does this cute doggie know what his master has been through....

Remakes after Remakes in Bollywood....

If hollywood is after sequels of blockbuster moviesof yesteryears like Diehard4, Bourne Ultimatum( which are doing good business at the box office), bollywood is a bit more clever( if not too lazy) in reloading all over classics as remakes. Ramu's version of Sholay-considered as the masterpiece of Indian commercial cinema, has bombed miserably at the boxoffice. Is it the lack of new scripts or the fear of experimenting with new themes that prevents these talented directors from attempting something different....Christ.....how many more remakes are down the pipeline !!!!!!!

Looking at the way Indo US nuke talks r going,the day will not be far away when we are going to use an ounce of atom bomb in our kitchen to cook food. This poor lady is yet to get the feel of this 'new fuel' when she trys to cook her chicken tikka with it.Hmmm.....I can smell something burning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of those crazy cartoons that started off as an attempt to draw a face on to the screen ....but only quiet late did I realise that there is very little room to draw anything beyond his eyes!!!!!! so this crazy cartoon confession was born!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!Forget about winning the match....do these guys know at least how to hold the cricket bats properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I seriously doubt so.......

This guy is paranoid, I think he will not even spare the poor kangaroos or the ostriches in his visit to Auz.....they may struggle to find their way out of his terror list....After all look who else has long legs in the cartoon other than Miss.Ostrich!!!!!!

Indian cricket badly needs a star coach like the one Sharuk portrayed in Chak De.......

But keeping in view the fate of our old cricket coaches what will be the response of SRK if they approach him....after all who wants to be the scapegoat when the only thing we can be sure of is that it is a story with a tragic ending......
